My choice poem for you, D dearest;
from Sitok Srengenge "ON NOTHING"

OSMOSIS OF ORIGIN

I ask the wind,
whence does reverie come,
the wind shakes the tips of leaves
and I see the tree paint the cycle of years

I ask the tree,
whence does time begin,
the tree opens up its flower petals
and I see a bee alight down sucking honey

I ask the bee,
whence does the cell that begat my body originate,
the bee hums flying into a cave
and I see a bat shut its ears upon a stone wall

I ask the bat,
whence does sound emerge,
the bat flaps its wings up to the night sky
and I see dew glide down like a river

I ask the river,
whence does the source of milk flows,
the river shows off the mountain
and I see a valley shrouded in mist

I ask the valley,
whence does taboo arrive,
the valley raises its shroud
and I see the naked earth swing in elegance

I ask the earth,
who does give birth to Mother,
the earth blushes, but I hear the sea answer,
"She witnesses upon fact, yet is incapable of utterance!"

I ask the sea,
who does contain her,
the sea roars, yet it drained
before completely spelling the Name

(aku bertanya kepada angin, dari mana asalnya angan, angin menggoyangkan pucuk-pucuk daun, dan kusaksikan pohon-pohon melukis lingkaran tahun, aku bertanya kepada pohon, dari mana datangnya waktu, pohon merekahkan kelopak bunga, dan kusaksikan lebah hinggap menghisap madu, aku bertanya kepada lebah, dari apa sel yang tumbuh dalam tubuhku, lebah bergumam terbang ke dalam gua, dan kusaksikan kelelawar menangkup kuping di dinding batu, aku bertanya kepada kelelawar, dari mana awalnya suara, kelelawar mengepak sayap ke langit malam, dan kusaksikan embun bergulir serupa sungai, aku bertanya kepada sungai, dari mana sumber air susu, sungai menjulangkan gunung, dan kusaksikan lembah bergaun kabut, aku bertanya kepada lembah, dari mana mulanya tabu, lembah menyingkap gaun, dan kusaksikan bumi bugil menggeliat anggun, aku bertanya kepada bumi, siapa yang melahirkan ibu, bumi tersipu tapi kudengar laut menyahut, "ia bersaksi atas fakta, namun tak berdaya untuk bicara!", aku bertanya kepada laut, siapa yang menampungnya, laut menggelora, tapi kerontang sebelum usai membilang Nama)
